Sugar & Spice is Richmond Animal League’s annual benefit and auction, and one of our most magical nights of the year. Together, we’ll celebrate compassion, community, and the powerful impact made possible when people come together to give animals a second chance.

For 2026, we’re excited to bring Sugar & Spice to a new home — The Science Museum of Virginia. Guests will enjoy music, delicious food, a silent and live auction, an open bar, and more, all in support of lifesaving care for pets in need.

RAL is committed to providing hope, help, and loving homes to animals in need. Last year alone, we welcomed more than 2,100 cats and dogs and provided over 7,300 spay and neuter surgeries. None of this would be possible without the kindness and generosity of people like you.

Small Art with Big Heart

Sugar & Spice is home to the ever-popular Small Art with Big Heart auction. Every year, participants have a chance to take home one-of-a-kind pieces of artwork. Each piece is made with love by members of our very own RVA community, including student art from local schools.

Many attendees have begun collecting these small artworks, typically 6x6 inches, adding a new piece to their collection every year at Sugar & Spice.

Take Me Out To The Ballgame

Thanks to our friends at eData, this year’s Sugar & Spice raffle gives you the chance to experience a Richmond Flying Squirrels game in style at their brand-new CarMax Park!

One lucky winner will receive a private open-air Rail Car Suite for up to 20 guests at the June 6, 7 PM home game at CarMax Park, plus $30 per person to spend on food and drinks. The winner will also have the opportunity to throw the ceremonial first pitch before the game. The evening wraps up with post-game fireworks (weather permitting).
